Hi all after a bit of advice my normal vets had booked pony in for his mirochip including call out was £43.75 which i was more than happy to pay because i know there good at what they do but there is a vets on same grounds as my yard who only charged £19.20 because no call out fee, so after popping in there earlier to ask thought might as well have mirochip done by them (Not my normal vets) Pony is a grey now when my youngster had his done (By normal vets) he didnt even flinich & there was no blood, today when pony had his (He is quite nervous anyway) he was trying to rear up lil ****** & after it was done there was quite abit of blood is this normal as quite worried about him???,
My youngster is bay
Thanks in advance

Sometimes they bleed sometimes they don't, depends if the needle happens to catch a blood vessel or not, if the pony was being naughty it is more likely as they may have been moving when the needle was put in, blood pressure will be higher and it will be harder to apply pressure properly afterwards. Don't worry about it, horses have a lot of blood they can afford to loose a bit!
