Missing Child

Oh goodness, hope they are found safe and well.

You'd be surprised at how late kids are allowed out until. My 7yo stepson is allowed to play out until 9.30 during the summer in the back end of a not so nice city. Worries us silly, mother sees nothing wrong with it as he's with his mates?!!

I, too, hope she is found safe and well very soon but who on earth lets a 5 yr old play out unsupervised at 7.30pm at this time of year?

These are exactly my thoughts as well. I just don't get this whole out of sight out of mind culture alot of todays parents seem to have. At 730pm it is very dark. I don't come from that part of the country but surely it's as dark there as down here in Kent. I really hope this little girl is found safe but it seems that she has been abducted which is very worrying indeed. The bit that doesn't add up is that she was out with other children who I presume were older than her and their description being a white/cream or grey car or van. Why didn't the older kids stop her getting into it. Goes to show just how impressionable children are and how they are so easily misled when not under the supervision of an adult.

We don't know the whole story or just how close the parents were. There is a massive take up of this on FB and twitter ( FB is child alerts UK) pls retweet to whomever and share the FB link to help get this little girl home safe and sound.

Holy crap, Thats my old town!!! The smallest little town, I grew up there from 2 till 11 (1991). It was a town where, shops left there expensive wares out on the streets overnight because it was so safe once upon a time! I probably went to school with her parents, apparently my uncle text my mum the news at 9 tonight. I can't wish her a swift return to her family more than I do. Machynlleth is an exceptionally tight community, full of wonderful people, I hope April is found safe and sound and returned home quickly.

believe me, having lived there, this town is a whole different culture, it seemed untouched by the outside world, as I said in my above post, the shops left wares out overnight often worth £100s of pounds, crime was not something that touched Mach, Everyone was trusted, not even the teenage kids trashed the stuff! Bryn Y Gog is a community in itself. It is not a case of letting kids run riot on the streets, the kids are generally playing in the middle of... for want of a better description, a cul de sac, parents peering out of the window from all angles. Whatever this was it was brazen. I lived there for 7 years, a small town and close knit community, believe me, you would never have thought it was possible if you lived there!

and no, its not very dark there... just hitting dusk, I don't defend these parents, don't even know the full story, but really casting stones? Is that really where you think the focus should be at this point?!
