Many thanks, again, to everyone who views/has viewed my postings. The latest information is that the missing horse, a chestnut

warmblood called Bertie (see photo in a previous posting, 05/05/2009) has definitely been seen 2 or 3 weeks ago in or around the village of

LYDHAM (near Bishop's Castle) in Shropshire. A possible scenario at the moment is that he is been kept undercover in a farm outbuilding for much

of the day and only brought out for exercise occasionally, so that he is not easy to spot.
I am more concerned that he may have been sold on in the last month to an unsuspecting 'new' owner. I am in possession of the original

passport for the horse and have recently secured a Court Order in direct connection with the horse. I would be most grateful for any information

relating to his current whereabouts, by a private message if necessary. I would also appreciate any information from people who have a detailed local

knowledge of this area and who might be able to just suggest possible locations for the horse, eg farms, as I live about 200 miles away from this area.

All contacts treated in the strictest confidence. Many thanks.

Can I ask a question re passports and stolen horses?

There are still questions on this forum re horse passports, perhaps H&H could get the message across

1 It is Illegal to sell a horse without a passport but not to buy one. Don't do it.

2. If you are offerered a horse without a passport notify DEFRA

3. Is anyone doing an audit trail of passports applied for on a monthly basis via PIO.

We have had passports for years and every new application should be vetted throughly. That is the way to stop the trade in stolen horses.

Perhaps you could try and contact Shropshire Horse Watch, they may be able to help you?

I think the website is www.shropshire horsewatch.co.uk

Hope this may be of some help.

hi, i cant really offer much help but when you zoom in on google maps to Lydham to the south of the main village there are 10 or so farm buildings, might be worth checking out owners etc. if possible. there are also more farm buildings directly east of the main village with 8 or so farm buildings, again might be worth a check on owners etc. etc.
good luck, i really hope you find this horse...
