I think we should all be alert to the possibility, that someone found her and hopes to keep her. With that in mind, please print off the attached flyer and give to everyone you know, especially farriers and vets. It doesnt matter how far you are from Hampshire; if she has been taken she could turn up anywhere. Speed of getting this information widely spread is essential. Lily has very distinctive markings that will be impossible to hide without interference being obvious. If you are connected to any form of hunting or equestrian website, please post this message.
I used to live in Privett and know my friend owns Stocks Farm where the meet was. Everyone in the area knows about it and are all looking - they just hope she has not been found and taken.
I find this most odd - did noone report having seen a loose horse after she bolted?
Are there any ditches etc in the area she could have fallen in?
It is possible she has found herself into someone's field who maybe doesn't even know yet! I don't know that area at all but it seems strange noone has seen a horse wandering about.
Is there any marshland, bogs etc?
Hope she is found safe and well. We often read stories on here where someone's posted saying horses have 'appeared' on theirs or a friends land so with any luck this will be the case here. I hope for a happy ending.
I think she is in a wood somewhere caught up by her reins, or possibly stuck in a ditch perhaps.
If I was the owner I would trace the water source from where they lost her to the nearest place she could find a drink, and keep following any watering places where she might drink. In this muddy ground they should really be virtually able to track where she went if she left the road. I've successfully found people's dogs for them in the past by following the river routes from their disappearance..
Poor devil will be freezing with no rug on, I hope they find her soon.
It is quite easy for horses to fall in a ditch and 'disappear', so I'd also suggest they check all ditches.
Years ago when I worked on a stud, a broodmare pulled back when we were loading her to go home and disappeared, leaving her very distressed foal behind.
We looked all over the stud for her and were mystified until we saw some broken branches at the top of a very tall hedge.
When we got to the other side, she was stuck in the ditch - she'd obviously tried to jump the hedge and fallen in the ditch. We soon extracted her and she was completely uninjured, but very happy to be reunited with her foal and even to go on the lorry!
Let's hope the story of this hunter has a similarly happy ending....
Have read a post in another equestrian forum saying that the pony has been found however there are no other such reports so how true it is I am not sure.
