So I started riding 8 years ago and was a typical pony mad kid. I started with own a pony days at my local riding school (now closed). I then moved to a riding school with better facilities where I loaned a horse and a pony (riding school has since moved). Then I got a pony on share at a DIY yard that I absolutely adored - by this time I was jumping, doing basic lateral work and dressage tests and generally having a whale of a time. Pony was then sold but buying him wasnt an option and it broke my heart - I still wonder what became of him. Since then I had riding lessons on and off at a 3rd riding school before giving up for about 2 years. Last summer I started sharing an amazing horse however hacking was rubbish and school was never free and that among other issues led to me stopping. About 3 months later I found another pony to share who I just didnt click with - she would nap to the point of rearing and I lost confidence. Since then (last christmas time) I have tried a few horses but none have worked. I guess im just feeling disheartened. All the sharer ads I have seen are either too far away, horse not novice ride, or they are asking for a lot of money. The riding schools nearby arent very good and/or too expensive. Ive seen an ad for a lovely looking horse not too far away and owner looking for £20 a week for a couple of days. Do I go? I suppose im just scared of rejection or me getting my hopes up and it not working out. Sorry for long amd rambly post!

You seem in a similar situ as me altho I'm lucky to have a good school nearby.

Will you regret not enquiring? If so, ring them. You have nothing to lose and possibly a lot to gain. If it doesn't work out then so be it. There are other ways to get a quick fix... A special beach ride (I'll come with!!!!) or a hack in the countryside.

Don't despair, chin up :)
