Posting on behalf of a friend.
Friend bought a horse 4 weeks ago from a local equestrian centre that was on sales livery. No passport at time of sale, YO who was selling on behalf of owner said all the passports were at his mums for safekeeping and he'd go and get it.
I'll not go into the other circumstances regarding the sale, but let me just say regardless of the passport issue, the horse was coming home with my friend!
Original Owner of horse is known, and when contacted confirmed she had passed passport to the YO.
Lots of excuses, no passport. Trading standards involved.
YO has now said passport is lost, and he will send his vet over on Monday to sort it out.
Excuse the numpty question, but I didn't think vets issued passports, but would do the identity bit? My friend would quite happily sort it herself, but is refusing to let this chap off the hook!
