A Pony has gone missing, possibly stolen, from a field in the Warnford area, near to the A32, on Friday 24/07/15. The pony was in a field with three other horses but only the pony is missing. An unknown silver horse lorry was apparently seen in the area on the day.
The Pony is described as a black gelding, 14.2 hands and is 9 years old.
If you have any information about this incident please contact the Police on 101 quoting reference number 44150256823
Horse theft, where there is no ownership dispute or other civil dispute, is a rare occurrence but we would advise horse owners ensure that they take precautions to protect their horses from theft.
Ensure your horse is freeze marked and/or microchipped and that your details are up to date with the microchip or freeze mark company. Keep fencing and gates in good condition and secured to prevent accidental escape and check your horse regularly, at least once a day.
Report any suspicious activity or vehicles to the Police on 101, recording as much detail about the vehicle, such as make, colour and registration number and any description of any persons involved.
