Bruce had to take a trip to the vets today because he's having weeing issues - He's totally housetrained but for the last 2 evenings he's has 'accidents' - copious amounts of wee and a mortified spangle who desperately tries to get to the back door......last night he was on the second floor so 'dribbled' wee all the way down 2 sets of stairs - bless him he was only trying to do the right thing

Anyhow - I took him to the vets as I suspected a kidney infection. Once there the vet stuck a thermometer up his bottom (he wasn't impressed) to find he did have a temperature, then stuck a tube up his boy bits to get a urine sample - Bruce was such a brave boy, but I wish I could have got a picture of his face

He does have a kidney infection and is on AB's with a check-up on monday.

HOWEVER - the vet said he must be kept quiet ( he's a spangle FFS) and dry ( it's not stopped raining here for weeks) The vet did snigger whilst telling me this, saw my look of dismay and kindly said 'well, try your best!' I have taken the vets advice seriously, cue me taking a mortified spangle for a lead walk around the village, wearing a dog coat

Will we ever live it down?

Haha, at least he has a sheath, I presume! Try keeping him clean without one

Usual conversation at the vets 'You been making sure he is nice and clean then? And he hasn't been 'at himself'?'

BARF!!!

Get well soon Bruce

Whilst we were out he did see one of his lab friends that we sometimes go shooting with - Bruce hid behind me in embarrassment

I had to explain to his owner cos he obviously thought I'd run mad dressing my dog up like that!

Yeah, and you can imagine the apologising I have to do to little old ladies, mummies of small children, and his breeder's mother in law, at a barbecue, who was halfway through a hot dog when she noticed

You may have noticed the angles of a lot of my photos, and Colleen's fabulous Photoshop jobs
