Missy back from horsepital .......Any advice on blood clots :S ?

And scan showed blood clot but just to confirm they have drawn some fluids from her fetlock, which indicated some blood .

No adhesions(sp?) on the tendons which is good news, no infections and no bone or joint damage .

Has anyone had a horse suffer from blood clots in the fetlock area ?

My poor baby is still at horsepital , Bless her shes neighed when I pulled up to visit her , Can't wait to get her home , She was a star according to the vets and especially as they are having the whole yard tarmaced, Lorries and diggers working away kept her busy

oh no! and good at the same time.........so glad it is not a tendon problem.

O no idea I'm afraid but I'm glad she is ok. if she was mine I would be giving her arnica and then toddling off to my my friendly herbalist/homeopath for further advice.

I'm thinking stuff for circulation - so would feed her wilted nettles for sure and would let her graze hawthorn hedges.

Hope she is better soon.

V for now its 6 weeks of box rest and short walks out followed by bute .

Slinky ....Arnica bought today as vet said the same, Also got her some rescue remedy for her just keep her nice and relaxed whilst being stabled .

Results from the fluid will be in next week hopefully .
