Has anyone ever used Limeplus dip shampoo to get rid of mites? I dont know anything more about it but my vet is trying to charge me £27 for it and I want to know if its any good before I fork out for it! Apparently it turns your horse yellow for a few days!!

Hi....I have for feather mites....it isn't a shampoo as such because it isn't washed off. I usually wash with diluted hibiscrub and rinse before applying the lime wash dip and rubbing it well into feathers. Yes white bits do turn yellow temporarily and it smells of rotten eggs :-) but seems to help mine if done every couple of weeks I think by keeping numbers down rather than eliminating altogether.
Around 18.00 inc delivery from The Pet Medicine Company ;-)

I use Frontline for mites. My vet prescribes it for me, although it is not licensed for horses. You spraythe feathers and reapply 10 days later. It worked for my horse :)

I use deosect approx £30 per tin but lasts ages as you only use a small amount diluted plus it does flies too, or front line easy to use and works.
