Evening all,

I havent been on here for a long time.

My deloved car had died, doesnt have the power to tow anymore. So the hunt for a new replacement has started. Now my current vehicle is a Isuzu, 2.7 trooper. However there are very few around and my budget is limited. Around 6/7k.

Now i have been looking at a Toyota Landcrusier Colorado 3.0 litre or a Mitsubishi Shogun.

Now i can not find anyone how tows with the Colorado only people who do with the 4.2 litre.

Can anyone help, good and bad comments and experiences needed, or any other suggestions are happily welcomed, as im stuck, cannot go out to play until i replace my Betty.

Look forward to reading your replys and thoughts.

Lauren

Either would be fine 3 ltr toyota and the 2.8 mitsu are fine if a bit thirsty and you need to make sure oil is/has been changed regularly I have a friend who tows a ifor 510 with a prado swb auto which is a colarado by its real name.. she loves it and finds towing a breeze. if you could find a bit more ££$$ the later d4d engine toyota is better on fuel as is the 3.2 mitsu..

I am on my 3rd Colorado, I sold the first one when it had got to 210 thousand miles as I thought I may be pushing my luck towing with all that mileage on the clock, although it never let me down.

Sold the 2nd one with 165k on the clock as I do a lot of towing (I sold it to my brother & it's still going strong over 200k)

The 3rd one is fab too, you just have to be careful with them though as they find it so easy it's not hard to forget you have the trailer on the back ;)

I would highly recommend (No I don't work for Toyota ;)) wouldn't change to another make as have never had a problem. The first two were GX models but now have the VX (Leather etc) all have been 3.0td.

Toyota every time. I've had a Landcruiser and am now on my 2nd Hilux. Sister is on her 6th Toyota. Have them serviced every year and they have all been fab.

You simply cannot beat Toyota - wherever you go in the world you will always see old kna****ed ones still going strong, and the fact they are used by the UN speaks volumes.

Before I bought my Landcruiser I test drove a Shogun and towed with them both, took them on some rough ground etc etc & chose the Toyota. Aside from the performance it seemed a little less 'agricultural' to drive and the interior was far superior. When I told the Mitsubishi garage I had gone for the Toyota the salesman said 'well if you can afford one then I don't blame you, they are King of Off-Road'

Another vote for the Toyota. :)

I have a Colorado Auto, its nearly been round the clock twice, still running as beautifully, reliable, comfortable, tows like a dream - I would definitely get another one.

Thank you all so much.

I think it may have to be a Toyota after all those positive replies.

Just wish buying a car was easy and stright forward! :o:o:o
