does anyone use a mitsubishi shogun swb for towing trailers?
if so how do you find it?

And general road use, are these ok 4x4's?
is it good in snow/ice?

tvm : )

No problems with our Shogun we had, towed anything and everything in snow in the North of Scotland we had last year. Reliable on the snow and ice and never let us down. We have an L200 now so waiting to see. I would buy another Shogun tomorrow if I had the choice. I just hope the L200 is just as good.

Sorry just noticed that you mentioned SWB, ours was LWB.

Had a SWB Shogun years ago and it was just brilliant to tow with! Better than most other 4 x 4's at that time (around 15 years ago). Wouldn't have wanted to travel hundred of miles on the motorway with it, but it was perfectly fine and comfortable and we had no problems with it whatsoever.

We towed with a lwb shogun (actually had 2 of them over a period of years). When the last one died we switched it for an L200 which we didn't find as good at all (well, I never drove any of them so have to say it was actually my mum's opinion).

We ended up getting a lorry and my dad has the L200 for work and for towing the rowing boats.

We'd def get another shogun if it wasn't for the fact we now have the lorry.

We have a N reg SWB 2.5 shogun and find it really good, it could do with a bit more power but we are only usually towing 1 anyway. We've done 3+hrs up the motorway in it and its fine, i suppose a lwb would be a bit more stable but i haven't had a problem as i usually only drive a max of 50-55mph. Only fault.........the seats make my back ache badly!

Bought a 2001 SWB about a year ago - spend over £1300 on repairs/faults in the first few months - was in the garage more often than not. Ended up that it overheated while towing - luckily was only a mile from home!

Would never touch one again - crap fuel consumption, like driving a tractor and I found that despite having new tires it was very unstable and often slid on wet roads.
