we took twig to a centre near us called the gg centre as were hoping to get her out and about doing some clear round jumping soon. the gg centre is basically a place near us with indoor and outdoor arenas, tons of jumps, sufaced canter tracks and xc fences (not in use til spring) - you just pay £10 and you can use whatever you like for as long as you like)

anyway, we got there and there were a few boxes parked up and kids and ponies runnning round so it was all good experience for plenty things to look at for her.

As ever, warmed up on the flat great, ive been having lessons with margot tiffany and she really is springing.

Did a few small crosses, uprights and spreads, with small fillers underneath too and also her first double

nothing to big - nothing over 2'6 but she really is getting the hang of taking off in a sensible place and what to do with her feet, shes jumping very round - sometimes a bit too round for my liking!

then, coming off a turn to an upright she suddenly stopped and went straight up in the air for no apparent reason except for having a little nap - she hasnt done it for a few weeks so i was a bit caught out. anyway turned her quietly in some small circles and then got going forward again, popped two more fences then called it a day.

i think she must have been p****d off not to win that one as when it came to loading up she refused flatly to get anywhere near the ramp (unusual for her), anyway after about 20 mins of being patient (very hard lol) she went in. At no point did she look worried or scared she was just being down right mardy - bloody mares

so, a mixed day all in all but im pretty sure she is ready for some clear round jumping, just need to keep practising and getting her confident!

really is a fantastic facility especially when i have no school of my own to practice in - our showjumps are on a stubble field not helpful when teaching a 4 year old!

i was just pleased she coped well with all the kids and little ponies all over the place and all the trailers and boxes, was a bit like a mini show for her!
