Mixed feelings.

Just had contact from my TB mares loanee and they have decided they want to buy her!!! We discussed this at the time of loaning and agreed a price but doesn't stop me having a sad moment thinking what could have been. I know the girl who has her is utterly perfect for her and they are having a ball together but Jade is such a loving sweet gentle mare I did sort of have dreams of one day having her back and riding her myself. Oh well it's a fabulous result, Jade gets herself the best owner, the rider has an amazingly talented horse for very little money and my van can now have it's MOT so at least I'll stay mobile!!

Hopefully will get to see her winning her first showing class tomorrow so that will be a proud day for me! She's definately a rags to riches story and I'm happy I helped her on her journey from the meat man to a much loved and adored horse.

Ooh definitely mixed feeling there..Could you get her to give you first refusal if she ever decides to sell her on? You never know, some people say they'll give her a home for life , but circumstances can change - I've had a bitter experience of this when i sold my lovely mare to a forever home and when the lady was killed , my poor horse ended up god knows where , although at the time i couldn't afford to buy her back as i'd spent her money and more on a new horse. Terrible really.

Oh yes we've already agreed I'll buy her back if anything happens. I'm not a TB woman but she was going to slaughter so for the sake of £200 I bought her, I'd never planned on her being my horse but she is such a lovely kind gentle mare I couldn't help but fall for her. The girl that has her is only 16 and has said that Jade has taught her so much already, I can see them being a great team for a long time, Jade is only 7 so hopefully they'll have a long happy life..although I suspect if she does get bored or things change her friend who shares the yard with her will nap Jade cos she keeps telling me how jealous she is of her and she wishes she'd seen her first!!!
