Just been reading through the notes you download from their site and it seems really complicated especially the roads and tracks part. How fit should your horse be? We compete 2 or 3 weekends a month, school 3 times a week, hack and have a day off, but Molly is 17 this year and am wondering if it's too much to do the intermediate. Anyone whose done it please share your experiences

I did the Intremediate in 2002 and I had my horse extremley fit, so much so we didn't need the 10 minute box to recover!! I coincentrated on loads of road work getting him fit. The times aren't steep and my problem was my horse was looking for xc fences on phase A and I struggled to hold him!

Its good fun and you will enjoy it just put the work in prior to the event. I hope to go again someday!

Safina! Do some work!! Lol

I agree - go to the clinic will prepare you really well. Best thing to do is really get your head around it all before you go.

Fitness - you have plenty of time to get fit enough before the end of May.

Thanks couldn't find details of this years clinic. We have decided to wait until September when Jack will hopefully have his new horse (Molly isn't going anywhere though - we love her too much!) who will be younger. Mol would probably be fine but deserves to take it a bit easier, thanks for everyone's input.

I did it a few years ago (can't remember exactly, my memory's terrible!)

I got my girlie extremely fit too. Shame I wasn't though! After walking the courses several times and being so nervous, I nearly passed out by fence 9!!
