I've never done a report before, so hope its not too self-indulgent!
The weekend started well, we dressaged nicely for 31.5 to be in 2nd, despite the horse in the next door arena fly-bucking and kicking out- apparently it VERY nearly joined us! By endurance day the weather was shocking, so bad i had to leave my coat on to compete! Clear jumping but time penalties on both steeplechase and xc, but that is the occupational hazard of pretending your 14.2 hairy is a 3 day eventer! We didn't xc until 3.50, so the weather was pretty much at its worst i think, so bad my face is STILL bright red from wind/rain/poss hail burn despite plastering it in moisturiser, and (without me noticing) my hat silk flew off half way round and is lost and gone forever i think

. If anyone near MK finds a black and white spotty hat silk i'll be very grateful!
He trotted up fine tho, and show-jumped clear within the time in again, shocking weather conditions, so i am thrilled with him

I think we finished just outide the placings, due to our time penalties. Am not sure whether he just won't make the time or whether i'm not riding on enough, i appreciate its impossible to tell without having seen us, but any thoughts gratefully recieved. No photos yet because i couldn't face the walk over to the stand in that weather, but hopefully they'll go up on the internet soon.

Not indulgent at all - well done for your dressage test and clear jumping rounds, a huge acheivement as hardly anyone SJ'd clear. The pics will be up on the internet by the end of the week (john britter photography) hurrah!

Ooh good, i was just about to ring and ask them that, saved me a job, thanks loads! Am ordering the DVD too, not least so i have some evidence of the shocking weather!

Thank you both, and only class one, luckily i was over in the yard-side stables so they were okay, because that sounds awful. I always admire the pics of your daughters pony, she has an amazing jump on her! The technicality doesn't bother us but the big galloping (supposed to be let up fences) in class 3 would be far too large for us, not to mention how many more time penalties we'd rack up! He's def food not speed orientated, altho maybe i could set something up with a carrot stick arrangement?
