As Ive missed writing my Eventing Countdowns, I thought I would just do a quick run through of this weeks prep for our first *as members* BSJA show!

Back in August we tried our hand at BSJA on a ticket! my first ever

and I actually enjoyed it!

So Monday, off went the forms to the BSJA! and we are now paid up members - eeks! our first show is on Sunday, we're doing the Discovery

This week has gone well, last saturday I gave winston his first jump since Smiths Lawn horse trials which was at the beginning of August - so nearly 2 months ago

He was fantastic and I came away beaming - as did YO as she is looking forward to be going back on the circuit - as her son (a YR) is in Germany (for those who dont already know) with his Grade A and B horses! So although we (winston and I ) arent at those dizzy heights shes excited just to be back on the circuit lol

So, on Wednesday morning, we gave Winston another jump, YO did all the fences and winston was positively pinging

he really does enjoy his jumping! and I am feeling far more confident about my own abilities again!
We finished off with 4 fences all around 1.10m, 1.15m and a very wide oxer but he made no effort at that height whatsoever, its like hes jumping 2ft - odd pony!

Yesterday he went for a canter around the fields and he is definitely feeling fit and well as he is trying to buck and squeal at any given opportunity!

Today, I gave riding a miss this am, so will be doing Stressage this evening! tomorrow morning we have another jumping session planned (just 10 minutes) to practise some dog legs and a double and then Sunday we're off!

Shall let you know how we get on when I am next near a pc, as on monday Winston and I are off cubbing in the morning

See Rambo, I am still secretly missing not eventing, so put some shrubs and ditches around the arena and it will be like home from home LMAO

I am excited for ya! Cant wait for the report to come out!! Dont forget to look out for the horses that we have just sold as I'm sure they will be there.. although not in the discovery.

My mum couldnt give a flying fig tbh! she misses the eventing!

How exciting to be out competing again - Winnie will be a star!

All the details next week please - we are still trying to pluck up the courage for our first BSJA.

I spent yesterday watching BSJA at Addington.
The fence that gave 90% of the problems was would you believe a rustic brush.
Strange that most of the horses that jump it confidently were ridden by riders with little yellow tags on their hats

Ooo hello Lisseygan, youre new here arent you? I thought i saw a picture of your lovely horse jumping (was it at Upton?)

HAHA my little yellow tag fell off last week after all the rain the other day *sob* so I wont be recognisable lol however, if we did have a paddy at the little rustic brush then I can just say *hes a SJer lol*

probably not the best choice of course for his 3rd event.
Sadly, he will not be eventing next season. He just doesn't enjoy the XC phase. He'll do it but only because I tell him to. The spark is missing.
So he is going back to his former discipline....showjumping which he loves, hence my trip to addington to check out what its all about.
My lads imported from ireland with 137 Irish showjumping points so straight in as Grade B with BSJA.
Shame I have spent months slowing down his SJ for eventing

Yes they are agggggggggggges away but they are the first dates we can do! Cant do Addington on 5th Nov as I will be at YHL!

Wanted to go by OH has dressage at Keysoe that day.
Classes would be OK as I want to just enter 1mtr and 1.10 opens (or am champs) to star with as I dont think he has jump indoors before and its a lllooonnnngggg time since i jump any serious BSJA courses.
Hopefully will go to the 2 day in december and may well stay over.
 
Well if what theyve been saying on here is true! then IMO 1.15m JO isnt that small!

If I was ready then yep would be happy to put ponio in bigger classes - but im not! need to get my eye in - havent done much SJing as it were! I know Ive evented but the SJing is a means to getting to XC isnt it
