I entered into the CR at the yards SJ comp, twas only very teensy but I thought we would get round fine. Chloe warmed up fine, jumped fine, and we went in and I just could not feel her - she was all over the place. She hurled herself at the first, spooked at the second, so we went round and did it again - fine, if a little out of control. We went to turn into the 3rd, and seriously full pelt galloped over it. Then we went haywire and jumped the dressagey barrier and I just couldn't stop her. Felt so, so embarassed and I just completely let her down. People told me afterwards that she looked ridiculously strong, but I'm sure it was my fault. She has jumped coloured poles before, but I have never jumped a course of 8 with her. Took her out and did some practice jumps and she was foot perfect. I just don't get it with her, just feels as though we are never going to be able to do a whole bloody course without full charge into one jump, and bouncing on the spot going into another.
Anyway, I'm not going to give up. I KNOW she can do it - more lessons, more bomb proofing sessions, and some other girls at the yard are also trying to organise a clinic with the very good instructor at the yard, which I'm going to take part in come hell or high water LOL!!!
Right, so a little sun bathing before hand.
The jumps then got rather large - this is a pretty talented mare - everyone loves seeing her jump. It became a bit of a race between two grooms...
And the mare managed to do this as a bounce....
And cleared it pretty easily....
Dog agility....team talk with Pheobe...
Weeeeeeeeee....
Hope you enjoyed hehe - excise the moan at the beginning
