Sorry, pointless post really.
After blood, sweat and tears to try to get my non dressage horse to think he is a dressage horse

, hes decided jumpings for him.
He finds dressage boring, he anticipates flying changes, shoulder in when I want to do a circle or counter canter, Im told he is very talented but pretty lazy. Tonight I lunged him, he did his usual half hearted session so I let him loose and put a small jump up to see if that would inspire him. He flew it, cleared it by miles and galloped up the arena, stopped, galloped back turned and jumped it again, and again. He loved it.
I did try this ages ago and he just kept knocking it down so forgot about jumping.
So, looks like Im gonna have to give it a go, gulp!!

Wouldnt mind hes normally the most wimpy spooky horse, god help us with fillers etc. Maybe the wimpy spookiness is his way of showing me hes bored, if only they could talk.

lol, If this is a new beginning then there could be the slight problem of only having a dressage saddle. Mmmm can feel a spending spree coming on! Better get practicing, oh how pleased hubby will be

YEY saddle shopping!!! although trying to fit a jump saddle on my mare proved practically impossible ... but dressage saddles are fine to fit... i think she is telling me something that i REALLY dont want to hear!

I wish my boy would tell me what you dread your mare is telling you.
Its years since I jumped!! and guess what.... fitting my dressage saddle was hell, it had to be made to measure as he is so short in the back.
Maybe HE was trying to tell me something back then

Thing is Im that bobbins I'll only jump a tiny cross pole! .... then theres his leg, he fractured it 15 mths ago and although vet says hes fine I keep thinking it will snap. Eeeee the excuses I find

Actually, a bit of jumping might refresh his mind and make him more amenable to dressage.
