I have found a horse that I like the look of and she sounds perfect but on the ad there is only a picture of her head... I have requested more pictures before I go to see her, but the owner says she hasnt got any good ones to send me...

Would you smell a rat or am I being overly suspicious????

oh toughie i'd say, would she not get any other pics done for you to see? I would want to see the whole horse and it being ridden etc....not great advert then if only one from head...but were all different...is it very far from you not to just pop in and see it in the flesh?

IF it isn’t too far away then i would go if she is trying to hide something then you will see it when you get there anyway.

Ask her to take some. If she wants to sell the horse the least she could do is get off her backside and take some pictures! Personally unless she does i wouldnt go and see the horse.

In this day and age, it is so very easy to get a photo taken, so I don't think it's too much to ask! Like someone else said - if she wants to sell the horse you would think she would make the effort!
Why not post us the link and perhaps we can all take a guess at what the rest of her looks like!

I viewed my horse from a verbal discription only - but he was only 20 mins up the road. Any further and I would have not been interested without a photo.

Hi Happypotter,

I would deffo have a look, or ask for some more pics if you are worried?

When I went to see my mare the only pic of her in the ad was of her (and the riders) arse as she was jumping a fence!

Some people just dont have a clue how to show their horse off very well in an ad!

If the description is what you are looking for it cant hurt to have a look!

Good luck

The last three horses I have bought have been from adverts that were descriptions only.

TBH it wouldn't put me off as (no offence meant to anyone here) a lot of people cannot take a good photo of their horse. Jumping pictures with one leg dangling for example put me right off going to have a look at something, also, conformation can look poor but be ok and vice versa, depends on the angle of the picture etc, etc.

Wouldn't put me off unless it was the other end of the country. I'd ask as much as possible over the phone.

I've got 5 horses and not one of them has been brought from a photo ad (although got to confess that the newest/youngest horse was bought 7 years ago, and even 7 years ago photo ads weren't nearly as common as they are now).
