Hi. How easy are they to tow around the field realistically? I am looking at 18x12.
Do the wooden skids rot away quickly?
Any recent recommendations South Wales area not needing to sell a kidney for! Finally, is there anything you wish you had known/changed prior to purchase. Thank you.

County Equestrian are good. Mine has metal skids and tows well with a tractor. Be careful where you site it, it will get muddy inside if not. I use mud mats. Have guttering all round.

I have 3 mobile shelters, 2 x 10x12, 1 x 10x24. The 2 smaller ones are on wooden skids, they were rotten when we tried to move them after a few years and had to be repaired before they could be moved. I towed them easily with my Massey Ferguson 135 when the ground was hard. The big one is on metal skids but neither my tractor or my old Land Rover could shift it, I had to ask someone with a big tractor. I have only moved them the once and they are now in a permanent position, the wooden skid ones would need more repair before they could be moved again, I would not buy another shelter on wooden skids if I thought I would need to move it.

My horses scratch on the corners of the shelters and have destroyed the gutter down pipes, so I've given up with those.

I bought one in the summer on skids which is 12x22 in total - 16ft of shelter & 6ft of hay shed. The hay shed is a god send & I couldn't be without it - but depends what your situation is there. The shelter is on metal skids as I didn't want the rotting BUT the weight means a digger has to move it, it nearly killed my truck even on the flat! Also I think the pitched roof makes a huge difference. Also - make sure you get ground bolts and a wind gap at the back!
