Mobile stabling: just looking at the Redmire stabling. it has metal gates, is this OK, I would think that the gates should be covered to prevent accidents. I have seen ones with substantial wooden gates, I suppose a leg could get caught in those too.

My mobile stables have metal gates and I've attached thick foam mats to them as I was worried about the horses getting their legs caught. The mats have worked well.

Standard for most mobile field shelters, depends on what you prefer for frontage. Common sense dictates if you have gates fitted, attach mats or whatever if you think there is a likelihood of injury.

Problem is ? Cover the gates yourself if you choose to have them fitted, why should the company?

my stable atm has metal gates like the one your describing. matts is good idea, me and my dad just put plywood (what youd use for kickboards) on the inside of the gate, so if your horse was in the stable they cant get their leg caught, has done the job and still does the job really well, had no problems at all and havent had to replace the wood at all...like i said lasted for 4 years and still wont need changing any time soon...hope this helps :)
