i own a thorowgood dressage saddle that i bought off ebay... with no paper work.....

its one of the best saddles ive ever owned..... and would like to buy another thats identical to it...but in a smaller width.... but have no clue which model it is :/

its a hi-wither version
it has no changable plate
it has fish inserts
its at least 2 years old
its fully 'leather' and may have real leather knee roles and seat? but not sure
the underneath of the leather is fabric
the flap roles very badly
it has a deep seat
but the panels arnt very deep

hope this may be enough detail? just a basic model would be great! its defo not the t4 or t8 ...... anything earlier than these?
thank you :)

No changable gullet but full 'leather' rather than the 'suede' knee rolls narrows it down to the gap between when they stopped making the griffin and started making the T6 model, but before the wintec patent ran out on the changable gullet and thorowgood started to use them. I'd guess it's a early version T6 highwither dressage.

However all thorowgoods have a seriel number on them. Lift up the (usually) left flap and the tag should be up where the underflap joins the panel, a little back from the stirrup bars. You can then contact thorowgood and ask them.

oh its got a rounded cantel to...... any ideas with that? cos i have seen them with square ones now....

kbear....ok thank you... ill try that! just wondering if anyone else can give me a rough idea on here?

Square cantle is the older griffin or the newer cob versions. Highwither and standard versions are round cantled. Def a highwithered version? They can be hard to tell the difference.

yes defo high wither.... it sits quite high off my horses withers....very cut back..... suits them well! just want to find another ', :/
