The half tunnel traps are by far the better bet. I earned part of my living as a mole catcher when self employed as a pest controller .
The original traps were made by a company called Duffus but are made by numerous probably Chinese companies now.
I've still got about 20 traps left and I only remarked to someone the other day as to how cheap they had gone since i'd bought my originals.
Try sticking mole traps into E Bay.

Moles are the bain of my life. I have had success catching them with scissor traps however, there was always another to replace the one I'd caught. However I discovered that after removing the "hill" and locating the hole by pouring a load of substitute creosote down the hole and covering it up prevented their return - for a while, probably no the best method for fields you need for grazing but perfect for everywhere else where animals (other than dogs) aren't present.
