I have just heard that the rather wonderful and colourful Molly Sivewright of Talland fame, and mother of Pammy Hutton, passed away this morning. She was a super character and gave so much to the equestrian world. She genuinely will be sadly missed. RIP Mrs Sivewright.

Oh no, very sorry to hear this. I hate it when we lose the proper characters in the horse world, it becomes greyer for their passing. RIP Molly and condolences to all of her family.

Oh that's very sad. I have a few of her books and recently saw Pammy at a demonstration. There aren't many like her around now :-(

Never had the pleasure of meeting her, but read her books and have attended many a clinic with Pammy Hutton who mentioned her mother very often. She always sounded like a real character and with a huge knowledge of how to get the best from a horse. A sad loss.

I first met Molly early in 1980 in Australia - she was holding clinics and I was lucky enough to take part! She was a fabulous teacher - and an excellent rider too! I was struggling to get a movement from the big 1/4 Clydie I was rding, and she hopped on and made it look easy (and he wasn't easy!)

I was thinking of coming to England at the time - to take BHS exams. She was enormously encouraging and invited me to come to Talland for a couple of weeks - to add 'BHS style' to my efforts!

It amazed me when I was at Talland that when she rode in the evening, hardly enyone but me sat in the gallery and watched! She was fantastic to watch because she chatted to me and explained what she was trying to achieve, why and how. It was well invested time!

A remarkable lady - who has left a great legacy. Sincerest sympathy to Pammy and the rest of the family.
