We all feed different supplements, forages and concentrates in different amounts and for different reasons but if money was no object then could your horse benefit from a feed or supplement which isn't necessarily available on the market?

Despite much research and phone calls with different feed companies, I've never been completely satisfied with the products that I feed my 5yo, WB, gelding. Always feeling that he is either not getting enough of what he needs or getting too much and blowing a fuse.

If you had the freedom to design the ideal feed product be it a supplement or concentrate for your horse what would it be and why?

After years of trying everything on the market (when I was living in the UK), I've moved away from mixes, cubes, supplements etc for a simpler diet and one that is more in tune with what a horses diet would be in the wild. Obviously horses have different dietary needs depending on their work, but over here supplements are limited in variety and expensive. Hardly anyone I know uses them, and when they do it's only short term. All the SJers I know (and some really good ones at that) only get oats and alfalfa and look amazing on it.

Even if i was a millionaire I would still use Pure Feeds - Am so pleased I swapped just before winter - horse looks amazing, is sane!! and also has so much energy for work. - She is a 7/8th tb ISH who lives out and came out of last winter looking like a greyhound - so far this year she is only 7 kilos less than her summer weight! - So I would stick to Pure feeds most definately.
Its all just fibre based and the only supplements i feed her is joint supplement as everything else is in there.
