......in 1996 be 'worth' today ?!!!

This is what I paid for my mare then and was wondering if I were 'to buy' her now, what would she cost?

I believe it is widely agreed that prices double every 8-10 years. Obviously this would be very rough and does not take into account any market forces, fashions.
 
It all depends on what type of horse. For instance in 1996 you could buy a nice coloured traditional cob for under £800, but you would have to put a 3 in front of that now. I bought my Arab in 1988 as an 8 yr old and paid £2,250 for him. I could probably get an 8yr old Arab for the same or less today.
