I find that its hard to get a pup from dogs trust and we'd prefer a younger one as we like to train them ourselves and know their history. I don't suppose you know if the Jack Russell a pup?

Try a smaller private rescue - they can tend to be more flexible with people who work, etc.
Or even your local council dog pound or the rescue that they work with?
