I think the Latin name for this is Agnus castus, also called chasteberry. Often contained in supplements for moody mares, such as Hormonise. Have used Hormonise on daughter's pony with good results

I use Hormonise for my gelding (has a tendency to become full of himself when he's not on it) and its worked brilliantly for almost a year now.
