Am looking at buying a new saddle but would like some help and advise :)
Am looking for a saddle that fit's close to the horse so I can feel more secure when jumping, I want to feel the horse under me and easy to get my leg on without the bulk of the saddle getting in the way, and also i would like the saddle not to be too heavy. Have been having a look around and am thinking I would like a mono flap (single flap) or a close contact saddle or a normal jump saddle!!!. What saddle do you jump in and why and what are the mono flaps really like to jump in/hack/school in... :) also knee and thigh blocks!!! are they worth having... I would also like to use the saddle for schooling in from time to time. And any photo's of yr saddle would be good to look at.

If you can afford it get a saddler that can bring a selection. I have a close contact two flap saddle. When I changed it this year I was convinced I wanted a mono flap with larger knee rolls. When I rode in a variety I sat better and felt better in the two flap with small knee rolls.

It really is personal preference.

You cannot tell just by looking.

I have an Exselle Integra which I love, but like Horsemad12 says get a saddle with a big selection.
I tried several different mono flaps, close contacts and jump saddles before deciding I wanted mine.
I even tried two different Integras. I whittled in down to two and retried them over big fences. My saddler was there for hours making sure I got the right one. :D

Horsemad12 i was like you and didnt like a monoflap so have a two flap close contact which i love! Like everybody else get your saddler to bring a selection and try them all! Good luck!! :D

I had an Albion close contact, can't remember the name but it was the William fox-Pitt one and loved it. Really felt close to the horse and as it does up like a dressage saddle you have even less between you and the horse, only sold it as don't jump enough and couldn't afford to saddles. My YO's horse that I also ride has a Kent and Masters jump saddle. It's not single flap but very comfortable, forward cut which is great if you've got long thigh bones like me. The knee / thigh blocks are adjustable as is the gullet which works the same as wintecs system.
