So finally after years of waiting our outdoor school has been resurfaced with lovely soft sand! So I've started to use it abit more rather than going into the big fields as I have done previously (don't use indoor unless absolutely necessary I hate it in there!).

Anyway first couple of times Kane told me there was a monster in the bushes at one corner, then we had a rather spectular spook at the gate because he kicked up some sand on the metal and it made a noise...... Now don't get me wrong this horse is the spookest of the spooks and will find something to be scared of in a padded cell but usually I just ignore it and he forgets about it. So last night I went in to school again, first time in a week so it's not like he's getting over bored of the place, and we had a major issue at this corner! Firstly we had sideways spook ending up all the way across the school snorting and shaking, then I walked him quietly over to the corner and we had snorting, stamping and shaking. Then I tried doing circles slowly getting closer and we'd have shoulder dips away from the corner followed by scuttling away like something was up his bum!! Then I got angry and used the stick to force him over :o, then I tried one step 'good boy', another step 'ohhh very good boy'..sideways spook when he got too close! I got off and walked him to the corner...spook..took him out the school and walked him to the corner, that was fine he tried to put his head down and eat then!!

I literally tried everything and he still kept shying away from the area...so what do I try tonight? It's becoming pointless to use the school to work in because I spend half the time p*ssed off at him and the other not working properly because he's either shooting away from the scarey horse eating corner or not concentrating because he knows the scarey horse eating corner is coming up!!
