Moon's first event of the season and first pre-novice.

Dressage, she warmed up quite distracted but did some fairly nice work. In the test she was much the same- got a few 8s and also a few 5s!! Her trotwork is there, she just needs more work on the canter but its getting there. Judge loved her and she got an 8 for her paces *smug* Ended up with 39.5 so at least it was under 40!

Sj- she warmed up really well, started off well then twigged they were little, got cocky and ran on through my hand. Did this twice into two uprights and had both down which was completely unecessary, she's just crying out for bigger jumps though.

Xc, I was a little uncertain how she'd feel this year as she was v green last year and never really got into her stride in the little we did. All I can say is wow- she gave me a fantastic ride!! Totally focused, made it feel easy and I enjoyed every second. She's so responsive and straight to ride xc, hunting really, really helped!! Finished clear and inside the time.

So good day all in alla positive day, the dressage has room for improvement, the SJ I know she is perfectly capable of jumping clear and the xc realy impressed me

Bless her, it is so annoying when you cannot SJ the height you need to - Novice next run ?

Lol I was thinking whole way round 'she'd do novice now' but got to be sensible and not risk confidence etc....
Bloomin exams get in way too, ideally she'd do two more PNs then a novice but she's going to have to do 2 or 3 more PNs then have a break then one more PN then novice.
Oh well, time is on our side at least

well done, sounds like a fab start to the season. exams always like to come at inappropriate times, they just don't accomodate the competition season!!

she was a little star - it was a lovely XC round really confident. I think a couple more PNs with a bit more experience of doing dressage and xc and she will go Novice beautifully.

Hope so

I bought a DVD so will get you a copy as has Rodders on it too. Let me know if/when you get time to upload from your camera, stick it on youtube or something

Will do it now - Myles told me I was an awful camera woman as I have the shakiest hands - but at least I got nearly all of yours - he only took about 4 jumps of me

Should see you there

Glad to hear she is feeling "over" rather than under confident, and has remembered what she learnt from last year.

An 8 for her paces is brill.

Sounds like she ought to go Novice now to me

. You might as well wobble round a Nov dressage test as a PN dressage one, apart from the lengthened strides I think Liberty has a harder test than William at Portman (Nov 120 and PN 111).

I will seriously consider doing one end of April, she's the type that once she finds something easy then she makes mistakes so dont want to risk over-running her at PN

Oooh she does sound SO promising!!

The XC round on the video looks really fab- she looks easily ready enough to tackle Novice XC!!
