some of you may remember my post about bad luck coming in threes... well number three has arrived

was riding my horse in arena tonight, and he was working well and starting to come up behind. then jumped a small fence on a circle a few times to help him better his technique, and after one, about 6 strides around the corner, he suddenly didnt want to move forwards (more than usual

). was slightly concerned but just thought he was being lazy as usual and that he was tired (had been working for about 30mins) so jumped him over fence once more. he still didnt feel right so i asked YO to look at him whilst i trotted him on a loose rein, and she thought that he looked slightly unlevel behind.
to me he suddenly felt very "blocked" behind the saddle, and very reluctant to move forwards...

when i look back at incident, to me it sounds like tying up but was 30mins into schooling

so i don't really know what happened - what do you think?

have to admit i feel very ashamed that i made him work on

if it was tying up

*prepares to be shot if actually is tying up, although pleads that never had a horse tying up before and also that every one makes mistakes

he was fine when i got off him walked him down to stables, and tied him up and untacked him. checked all muscles and they didnt seem tensed up or tight, and checked legs for any heat. also picked out hooves to check for any stones!

he is in stable, and he will stay in tommorrow. YO and i are going to have a really good check tomorrow in good light to see what could have caused it.
also halved his feed just in case

tried to edit but i cant...

now i have researched it, it doesnt sound like tying up, as he simply did not want to move forward and his muscles were not tense

now i have to work out what happened...

I was going to say it doesn't sound like tying up. If it was me I'd have a McTimoney person out to look at his back and make sure everything is in the right place. I'd be checking the legs thoroughly as well.
