Well hunted my lad for the first time on Saturday...still paying for it cos he's nuts at the moment but hey ho!! Anyway discovered yesterday I was about to tack up he had a small cut on the corner of his lip, I can only assume it's the bit from saturday because I did have to apply the brakes quiet often!! He's fine and of course I didn't ride him ...attempted lunging..gave up..free schooled...gave up cos he kept leaping and bronking...in the end he was free jumping himself while I stood at the gate and watched!!!
SO what bit can I try that won't cause him to be cut? He's currently in a 2 ring gag, ridden usually on the snaffle ring but for fast work on the 2nd ring. It's a french link mouth and a chunky bit. Someone else on the yard has recommended to try one of these http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.thehorsebitshop.co.uk/shopimages/products/extras/8024U-16MM.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.thehorsebitshop.co.uk/product.php%3FxProd%3D2&usg=__-0kFvcHbAD5bnyxGFClxkZ-f9oY=&h=360&w=720&sz=23&hl=en&start=73&zoom=1&itbs=1&tbnid=_txN-dK9oPbAbM:&tbnh=70&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dlozenge%2Bbit%26start%3D60%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26tbs%3Disch:1
Does anyone have any experience of them?
