Hi all

All this feed is confusing! The nutritionist said she feels that when soaking feeds for an amount of time you take some of the goodness out of it, just like overcooking vegetables etc!

So that got me thinking - Sox is currently on Alpha beet, which did start putting weight on him but obviously its soaked (with cold water) for 2 hours which I presume may take some of the goodness out of it.

Would high fibre cubes combined with conditioning chaff be more suited? I'd still add some water so it's not so dry

As long as you don't drain the water off after soaking then you won't lose any nutrients. With overcooked vegetables the heat plays a part in destroying heat -sensitive nutrients plus you usually drain the water off so losing water soluble nutrients.
