Wow... wouldn't mind one of those.

I think there are some truly spectacular older yards/stables as well - Chantilly in France springs to mind but sadly I did not take any photos. I was particularly impressed by the fountain in the middle of the barn, high windows and red velvet curtains :-)

I like Royne Zettermans best as it looks like a proper home whereas the others look too clinical for my taste, not that i'd turn any down.

Also I like planting around the place.

Jan Tops has a stunning yard.

Wow, I LOVE Jan Brink's. Want to move there lol!! It's perfect.

I put the link in the other post too but I really love Aubenhausen, in Bavaria:

Actually come to think of it, the very best place I have ever seen is La Mandria, where the European Dressage Championships were held in 2007 and where the Italian championships are held every year (see why my ambition is to compete there -- I just want to ride there!!)

The venue itself is within a Royal Residence (UNESCO World Heritage site) and everything is just beyond description.

Just to give you an idea..........

But it's more a competition venue than a yard.

My gosh... that Italian yard is amazing, FrodoBeutlin!!!

And yes, I do love Jan Brink's place.

However, If I could just work in the US, I would buy a lot from one of the equestrian communities they have there. Like this one in Florida: http://www.theoakslakecity.com/video.cfm

It's not even that expensive compared to your usual semi in good Old Blighty!!! You've gotta watch the videos to see it all!!!

Tasel that video is amazing, I have seen ads in the past (on Dressage Today) about these equestrian communities in the US and you're right, the prices of the houses themselves aren't expensive at all, and what you get is fabulous!! If only I could cope with the accent I'd move there ;)

Yes I know, La Mandria in Turin really is a fairytale, I tried to find photos of the stables (inside) because they are beyond description but I cannot find any. I WILL ride there one day :)

FrodoBeutlin - the accent... that's what I thought, too! I love the facilities of that equestrian community - I wished they had that here, too... though it would be so expensive over here compared to the US!

I will live there one day ;)

What do you need to do to ride in La Mandria?

Ahaha, not very much actually, they have a couple of shows a year plus the national championships, so you can ride there irrespective of the level, almost -- my only problem is that I wouldn't travel the horses all the way down to Italy unless it was to compete at Advanced Medium at least and we haven't been able to, yet, but HOPEFULLY this Autumn we might be able to do it, fingers crossed.
