17ShareFacebookTwitter.Decapitated pony found on Pentewan beachA decapitated pony has been found on a beach in Cornwall, police said.

The animal was found on Pentewan beach on Monday, after Brixham Coastguard was alerted.

Devon and Cornwall Police said its head was "severed cleanly" and it had leg injuries that may have been caused by it trying to get out of the water.

The force said the horse may have been dumped from a boat and injured by a propeller. Its death is not thought to be suspicious.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a wooden cross and dead seagull had been placed on top of the pony and RIP had been written in the sand, but it is believed this was done by someone not connected to the death.

The force said it was investigating the incident.

Could someone please try & explain how a horse being dumped from a boat ISN'T suspicious?!!! Even if it wasn't deliberate murder, it's guaranteed cruelty surely....

It is all REALLY weird, I'm not sure what to make of it anymore... problem is, after that stallion was mutilated (there's still even more rumors going around about that one now..) people were blaming cults etc.. it wouldn't take a lot of thought/brains to make it LOOK like a cult act when really it may just be a very messed up individual..?

See what i'm saying?

I'd ignore tabloid stories personally, and find more reliable less scare-mongering sources of news.

The killing of an animal is not murder. That's the deliberate killing of one human being by another.

Finding a dead horse on a beach may be shocking and gory, but it doesn't mean the horse didn't die of natural causes, or fall accidentally into the water.

The killing of that poor mare is appalling but police say there's nothing to link it with any "satanic cults" or anything like that. Why on earth would anyone think there was?
