My friend brought one of her horses in last night and found a plait in its mane. She lives near Raleighs Cross, Exmoor. She has reported it and has since found out that a horse was stolen last week in West Buckland, although I don't know this straight from the horse's mouth so to speak, and Somerset Horse Watch's website is worse than useless, the last reported incident took place in 2007!

There were also attempts made to steal a horse in Batcombe 2 weeks ago - I'm on the Somerset Horse Watch distribution list having met one of our reps while I was out hacking the other week. If you give them your email address they send you out regular updates.

West Buckland horse is true, three yards targetted in Hemyock, one shetlants one racehorses one a connemara, this is not BS everyone in the area needs to be vigilant. Also plaiting found in chestnut pony in Corfe near pickeridge. apparently theres a cattle lorry white van dark mondeo/astra type car used. recent sightings of markings on the road and gateways not just plaiting.
