I got up to the yard early this morning, so I could get Ned out on a lovely long, fast ride before it got too hot
Tacked up and set off with no issue. Got to the park and had lots of lovely canters and even a sneaky gallop or two
Found a nice, small XC-like bench and jumped that and then the ditch after it too
I felt like I was at Badminton
That's another first! I've never done a proper jump out on a hack
Heading home, I decided to have one last canter, so I checked around, saw one lone man and thought nothing of him and set off. A few moments later I hear "OI!!" So I look round and the man is looking rather cross...it's a public park so I figured it couldn't be me but slowed down anyway, just in time to see a rather large collie flying towards me! Ned is usually good with dogs, but he took offence at this one and we both ended up in a thorn bush (with me, thankfully with attached!)
Collie looked happy and ran back to it's owner. Once I'd got out of the bush, I waved to the man and said "Sorry! Not your fault!" and he waved sorry in return.
Trotted Ned to check for any limping and had a quick check for cuts, but he was fine.
Started for home and he was fab all the way back
even when he had a massive tractor behind and a cement mixer in front!!
Got back to the yard and he was really sweaty, so I figured I'd go for another first - the hose!
Last time someone tried to hose him off (not me!) they took him onto the front yard, started the hose...and Ned came back without them!! No one tried again and used sponges instead.
It was a complete success
I think my bombproofing is paying off! He let me hose him all over! I did eventually find one little cut from the bush, but nothing worth mentioning too much.
He had his lunch and went back out into the field
Lovely day was had my all!
The view...

Pleased to be home!
