Hey, so sorry to whine in my first few posts but am getting slightly frustrated now!
I have a lovely mare up for loan due to my looming university course and i am so far having very limited luck in finding someone for her
She is a lovely mare who is capeable to turn her hoof to anything (happily jumps 3'6+ courses and a safe, sound hack). never bucks/rears/bolts/bites/kicks etc etc and incredibly bold across country. Everyone who knows her cannot understand why i am having so much trouble! I have advertised her via word of mouth and at a couple of local shows and had lots of interest, however once people see her they lose interest. dont get me wrong, she is well put together, very capeable very pretty and does well in showing and dressage (so cant be a total gremlin), but people are put off her as she is not your typical 'eventer' or 'competition horse' - she is middleweight and rather broad, she still goes like the clappers and jumps well. you could call her a 'proper hunter - built to last'.
I have had a couple of people come to ride her, but none have got on with her. she really is uncomplicated yet she manages to scare people
maybe its her strength and power that does it, but she didnt put a foot wrong (apart from one, who took longer than she expected to stop her cantering out on grass). Yet any of my friends/instructor etc who have sat on her seem to get on fine, even the most nervous of my friends will get on her and pop her over a jump or hack her out. is there something i can do about this? any advice about loaning in general? you are very welcome to tell me to shut up and get on with it, i am starting to panick slightly!!
