Hey guys - my first year BE this year so please excuse the newbie questions. I've entered Moreton intro which is now past the ballot date, how do i found out if i'm in? xxx
Should have the info but beacham can be quite slow.
If you entered via post you should have received entry confirmation with your section and number by now. If you were balloted your entry form would have been returned
i have been looking on there quite a bit but that site always has been slow. i think it is because it is up to the event secs to post the info and most wait until nearer the time!
I havent received mine yet either. Last time i didnt get my letter till about 4 days before the event!! I know i am in cos i am doing day before dressage in intro. If you entered before the ballot date i think you will be in cos thats when they closed the entries rather than keeping them open and then balloting! (If you understand all that waffle!)
to try to get everyone, or as many as possible, in to the event, we have offered day-before dressage. While we wait for the responses, we cannot publish the 'who's in' list. if we don't get enough takers for day before dressage, we have to ballot, and we have tried very hard not to ballot.
We now know that we can run a full day-before dressage section, so the sec can finalise the list, and computers permitting, the info will go out tonight (Friday 7th).
Those who have accepted day-before dressage will already know.
The organisers' guidelines are that confirmations should be out a week before the event. 12 days before is therefore not bad.
Events that are very well subscribed and that have to ballot will of course know their situation much earlier and can publish earlier. Events that don't have the option of day-before will also know earlier.
Last year we had entires coming in almost to the last minute so we kept our options open longer, hence the 4 day notice, but a lot of people rang in and got their answers in good time.
Bossanova, let me assure you that the background work to get this and any event running looks and feels anything but 'slack', with very late nights and very early starts.
