I am raround 7 weks pregnant and feeling very rough/tired and sick :( i have good days and bad - this was a surprise pregnancy having two children who are now 6 and 8 and at school full time its going to be a big change!!
I have 3 horses, a 2yr cob a retired TB and a 4yr cob whome i hoped to be doing a bit more with this summer. I have just been so ill that i can barely get out of bed :( luckily this time of year there out 24/7 so no mucking out just checking and watering every day.
However i have a feeling my 4yr old could be in foal - she got caught last year by a colt in October and did have the jab but hasn't had a season since. vet is scanning this week to rule any foals out (hopefully). If she is in foal then i just plan to plod about till around late august then just turn away and bring back into work next spring when we have had our babies :o:o
I feel so guilty not riding her or spending time with my neds :(
Hoping it will pass soon so i will at least feel human enough to do a bit more with them.
What did you do with neds when pregnant yourself??

If she is pregnant it couldnt have happened at a better time really! I'm 14weeks with a surprise pregnancy too! Congratulations!! At first I felt like my world was coming to an end. I had finally just started feeling brave enough to start taking part in little competitions and having a great time with my pony. I also have a 4yo daughter so another child was the furthest thing from my mind! I'm sick 24/7 and have had to give up riding completely as my stomach aches after riding for 10 mins. I'm gutted to say the least and jealous of all you ladies who can ride til you drop. I just do field checks and found a sharer to ride for me to keep him ticking over.

I understand how both of you are feeling, I'm 15 weeks pregnant (a happy but scary surprise) and have been soo sick 24/7, I have a rising 6 yr old who I was planning to event for her first season and a semi retired tb and haven't been able to do anything with them! Luckily my brother (who also has his own to do) has been keeping the youngster in work and doing the majority of the work, the most I've managed is to feed or change rugs so have been feeling very sorry for myself and guilty about the lack of time spent with my girls! I've had a couple of good days this weekend and have managed to give the bro a lesson and do a massage (I'm an ESMT) so fingers crossed I'm on the turn now and will start to feel more normal again so I can enjoy the rest of my pregnancy!!

I wish you both the best of luck, hope it passes soon and you can start to enjoy this special time!

Thank you - had another bad day today, yuck :(
Horses seem happy enough with the grass for now. Find out Friday if my cob is in foal, i can't stand the suspense of not knowing!!

The purpose of this post is to be encouraging - honestly! I was sick for 9 months solid with elder son but still managed to show our young stock in hand until all I could do was waddle! The hardest part was making sure the needle was safe when I had to dash off mid plait to be sick!

I had really bad morning sickness for the first 5 months of my pregnancy but found the fresh air helped. I do remember having to stop the car to and from yard several times though! Keep Haribo Tangtastic sweets in your pocket, I swear by them! Good luck and good luck with your mare!

I rode up to about 12 weeks, in fairness I didn't find out until 8 weeks. I had a few complications and as my girlie is quite highly strung I thought it best to put the riding on hold. Luckily I share with my mum who is retired so she takes her on quiet hacks 2 or 3 times a week and I lunge her. I am now 22 weeks and it can't wait until September (my due date) so I can get back in the saddle. I think it depends on the circumstances and individual, my riding Instructress carried on riding until a week before the birth! I still muck out etc but my other half won't let me drag pails of water and soaked hay nets around. Congratulations btw!!!!
