I rode there for snoopys first intro this season.
Its really easy.
Dressage runs close to the xc. Sjing is on a surface bright but not bad at all. XC is easy and straighforward, lovely course for a young horse imo.

See I don't think they do anything to the ground, the dressage was like rock as was the XC although the surface for the SJ is great.

I went for the first time this year and woudlnt bother going again. Was looking at the intro and thought it was quite an unfair course, the first half runs down hill and it is so variable from tiny insignificant things to bigger questions not flowing and then the steps i think are hard for a baby as you either go up and down teh PN way or up two, turn and down the otehrside which isnt' great for a young horse. Was totally underwhelmed by it, as being a college thought they could have made a lot more effort.

That said the fences were well built and the SJ's good quality. All the fence judges looked like students asleep so you could probably miss any fences you didn't like and get away with it!

I like MM intro, its usually my first one of the season in the spring. The DR is close to the XC as BB's said and they will SJ on a surface if the ground is dodgy (hard or soft). I didn't go this year, but reports from friends were that they hadn't done alot to the ground and as it was so dry in the spring there were some bad cracks in it, but have been there in the spring when its been really wet and slippy down that first hill!! I always find it a nice course jumps-wise, nothing too scary altho the step up always looks rather big! Good Luck.

Nope quite agree with the ground. They seem to do very little there.
However, I still think it was a straightforward course, even for my youngster.

Terrible prep, poor ground and the course doesnt flow at all. Wouldnt go back, even though its very local to me. Does nothing for young horses.

Go to Broadway instead- a couple of weeks later and far better event. Goo ground prep, nice flowing courses and much better organised!

eeek mixed opinions........ might just stick to burnham market before i go to hartpury then and not do both??

Smerls ....... am doing broadway
