What's the course like there? And the event in general? Just debating whether to enter or not and it's further north than I have been so far!

Thanks. x

I like it ! (maybe because I got a DC there

) SJing on a surface - even after horrific rain it was still on - the dr warm up got boggy but it was pouring for days before hend. The xc is okay - didn't see the novice but seems a nice, well built course. The time is always hard to get xc but I think it is a nice event.

Debateable if its worth a long trip tbh

It would seem it's not actually that far from me! No further than some of the southern ones I travel to. The calendar is looking a bit sparse for me towards the end of the season sadly, because there is no way he'd be fit enough for Pontispool and Bricky is a pain in the backside as although it is a super event, I have to do day before dressage to do the novice and the drive is a horrible one from me. It totally destroys my weekend doing Bricky so cannot see the point as also have added cost of stabling etc when rising fuel costs make the sport so much worse this year anyway.

I am also going for lack of anywhere else to go!

It's usually well run and decent xc, not the most inspiring of atmospheres, but it does the job when you need a run!

I have only done the pn, the sj is on a surface and always a nice track, the dr warm up is rather tight esp with lots of horses, and the xc at pn was pretty good and up to height, but I have deliberately not entered the novice as when I have seen it on previous occasions its never really appealed to me, so I am entering BCA, they just don't have quite as much funding as some events, but if you are quite experienced at novice level, I would reccomend it!

I've looked at the calendar again and decided that MM will have to be a 'wait and see' one - otherwise I end up with 3 events on 3 weekends (PNP, N, N) so may just finish the season off quietly with Monmouth, Dauntsey and Mount Ballan. If MM doesn't ballot and horse goes well at RC camp next weekend then I may rethink, but ATM I'd be entering today just to beat the ballot date tomorrow and 3 events on 3 weekends feels like a lot of effort! Might go BSJA instead or something. I feel a bit feeble but I just do not think I can be bothered now I know I'm not going to do Aldon.
