Ime they don't eat it. Sheep will control it.

Thanks. Unfortunately the yard owners probably won’t let me have sheep but I have a very good doer so it may help control her calory intake …

I find it holds the soil together well, mine are fatties so don’t need a lot of grass but gazing it bare ruins it for winter.

It’s just developed so much moss with all this wet weather it has turned my paddock into a temporary river ….

I had loads last winter in my ponies field. They didn’t eat it and it kept the lower part of it that would otherwise have looked bare green looking.
I did get a bit worried as it seemed to be taking over the grass completely.
This year it’s gone. I’d forgotten about it really until reading this.
MR P possibly sprayed it
Edited to say I just checked and no he hasn’t done anything so it’s just dissapeared this year

Don’t know about calorie content but my good doers don’t eat it
