Just after a few opinions here. My horse is fed on a balancer, sugar beet and hay/haylage.

In a reasonable amount of "light" work, probably anywhere up to six hours a week.

She's currently on topspec light, and wondered if there might be a better balancer/more cost effective one for her.

She needs to build up top line, which is coming slowly with the correct work, she also needs a balancer with protein in it, as opposed to just a vit and min supp.

She doesn't need build up cubes or any of that type of feed as she's looking perfect on her current diet.

I haven't tried Topspec light, and I hear its good, but after having tried various expensive and good balancers over the last couple of years, am about to return to the old faithful, Bailey's Lo Cal.

Horses always did very well on it and with increasing prices on feed, I'm not sure that, Cost= Better.

Lo cal is cheaper than all the ones I've used, so gets my vote.

I use lo cal too and wouldn't change to any of the more expensive choices. His coat is lovely, his hooves are strong and healthy and he is building a good top line (he's only been in work 5 weeks).

I used this for a while and I'm planning to go back to it. It's a powdered balancer effectively and has a fairly comprehensive ingredients list. It worked a treat and it was VERY good value for money, esp as I have 4 horses!
