If you don't mind investing in some expensive ones, get the Veredus overreach boots. They are pricey though. Due to the price you would only use them for riding (not for turnout). They stay in place, they protect the heel bulb, they do not budge!! Very sturdy construction.
I had a pair, but after 6 months, one of the straps broke - I contacted the company and they replaced them for free, which I was pretty pleased about
They cost about £90 though! I keep a separate pair of cheapies for turnout. I don't mind if he trashes the cheap ones!!
I've found the Woof wear ones to be really good. My horse used to regularly get through Roma/Shires ones (similar to HY) but the woof ones were very tough. I used the cheaper types for turnout and the woofs for riding.
Thanks for replies, sorry should of stated it's more for turn out. She had a really bad over reach injury from the field but she doesn't temd to over reach when ridden.
I highly recommend Pariani pull on over reach boots for turnout. My sensitive skinned arab wears them 24/7 during the summer and they have never rubbed and a really tough.
My gelding is very tough on his and wears them 24/7, he has mark todd ones and they are brilliant. he destroyed premier equine, roma, woof wear - inc the kevlar ones.
They never rub and are very robust and only about £20
I also recommend Pariani pull on boots for turn out. My lad has his on 24/7 and they have never caused anything more than a little thinning of the hair where they sit. (he's a very fine coated tb)
He is very hard on over reach boots and I have had four pairs in two years but they have saved him from a couple of potentially very nasty injuries judging by the tears he has made in them.
