Anybody had a humiliating thing happen to them at an event / show?

Only thing I can think of happened in the dressage arena. One horse decided as I took my hand off the reins to salute at the end that he would go ballistic, chuck me off and leave the arena at a gallop. Another one I remember I simply could not keep in the arena! He was flighty as hell and we must have left the arena about 6 times..... (it was a little event luckily so they let me carry on!).

Falling off in the warmup arena before a fox at the feet of a Whitaker was pretty embarressing it must be said!

But falling off at Devon County after horse bouncing to a stop at water jump and me landing on my feet also ranks highest in embarressment stakes considering i think if i remember rightly Nick Skelton, Mick and John Whit, Will Funnell and several others waiting at the ringside for their round!!

Falling off at an 18ince upright in the old Prixaprilli test.

Also when warming up at Powderham for the Novice falling off when the horse stopped at a tiny cross pole. I think that was in front of Mary King.

Doing my first (and only to date!) novice test on my mare - it was a dare from my friend to do it.
Anyway, she slipped on a 20m circle in canter, did a huge buck in protest, and I flew clean off.
Managed to shout "game over" as I hit the deck though!

Getting dragged through the middle of both my dressage arena and someone elses before my test, because my pony thought that some cows in the next field were terrifying!

Going before the bell at the area sj. I was so emmbrassed! I heard the bell in the next door ring and thought it was mine.

Being eliminated in a 2ft9, on a horse who happily pings 1.40m

Being told by the dressage judge she was deleting two marks off my score for swearing at my horse...

I reckon CCj's was doing a dressage test at an event on Monty. He went into the arena, napped violently sideways and the judge beeped her horn. She asked CCJ were she thought she was going, the reply was "I'm trying to go down the centre line...."

Having to retire halfway up the first centre line of a dressage test because horse took a dislike to the Judges sitting at C!! Couldn't get the git anywhere near....so retired with a lot of under the breath swearing

Went SJ at west wilts after a rather crazy saturday night out. Still feeling rather delicate the next morning... jumped the 1m class, Rog went beautifully and carried his alcoholic rider around the course clear.. jumped the last and said rider who was just about holding it together with the dizzyness 'slipped off' on landing in a not very elegant or subtle way... hhhmm well done me !

Learning the wrong test for a ODE! The schedule was confusing ( my excuse and Im sticking to it!) Fortunately the judge felt sorry for me and let me have a reader as she realised I had bothered to learn a Test- just the wrong one!!!

I did expect to be eliminated at the end but it was nice that I was allowed to continue and compete.

area eventing with my pony club, in the showjumping fase- forgot to check my girth and half way round my saddle slipped violently- however managed to not fall off-just!- and adjust my saddle without turning a circle/crossing my tracks/going backwards, and then carried on and went clear
