Following on from my other post about my naughty 2yo escaping and not respecting the fencing, I am now looking at getting another energizer for my mares field as she seems to have grasped the fact she can do it too. The current energizer i have on there is just not powerful enough.

I was looking at this one... http://www.farmcareuk.com/shop/product/12v-Energisers/a4-12v-energiser

Anyone have any ideas? Dont really have a budget as I would rather get one I know is gonna work and keep her off the fence!

:D xx

Bumping up, as I've got the same problem. Spent this morning picking off the electric rope from the fence underneath, where she's leant on it and it's caught on the main fence. Bloody mares!

Is your 2 year old out without a rug? Horses need to learn that the electric fence gives them a jolt & the only way for them to learn really is to put them out naked so that they'll get a good jolt when they touch it. Hopefully then they'll learn some respect for it & once they have respect then you can rug them & they will stay away.

Ohh yessss! she is unrugged! :D She is not the problem anymore as she is staying in her field now :D I am now looking for another energizer for my mares field as they are not in fields next to eachother so I cant connect the two fences together. :( someone mentioned that I need to look for the Joules in the energizers to determine how powerful they are? The CP500 that i have on my 2yo's fence in only 0.5 joules and the one i am looking at (link above) is 3.5 which will give her a good shock!
