What age were your children when you went to a mother/daughter share and what height was the horse?

Currently driving myself mad deciding whether to get a bigger pony or something bigger we can share.

I consider our horse the whole family’s but will primarily be for my daughter (nearly 12) and me. We got her in January and she’s 13.2-3ish. She’s an Icelandic and for us it’s more about build and temperament and less about height.

Shared a 15:2 with my then 12yo and a 17h with my then 15yo. Neither were purchased as mother / daughter shares, but i worked out well.

I know a few parents that have bought young 14.2hhs when the child is around 9-10, child stays mostly on their trust reliable and slowly grows into the 14.2.

I have a 13.2 and the kids rider her hacking but she’s not very child friendly in the school so she’s not a true share.
